Hitachi was founded in Hitachi, Ibaraki, Japan by Namihei Odaira in 1910. They are a Japanese multinational conglomerate involved in many things including consumer electronics, information and telecommunication systems, construction machinery, automotive systems and much more. They are thought to have produced the first boombox in 1968, the Hitachi KS-1700H.
