Grundig Boomboxes

Grundig AD was founded in 1930, in Nuremberg, Germany, by Max Grundig. They first started selling radios at a store named Fürth, Grundig & Wurzer (RVF). By 1951, they were the largest manufacturer of radios in Europe and also started making televisions. In 1972, they changed their name from Grundig GmbH to Grundig AD. Philips took control of the company and 1993 and sold it to a Bavarian consortium in 1998. In 2003, Grundig AD declared bankruptcy. In the United States, the Eton Corporation produces products under the Grundig name.
