Sanyo Boomboxes
Sanyo is an electronics company founded by Toshio Iue in 1949 and has their headquarters in Moriguchi, Osaka, Japan. Sanyo means “three oceans”, the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian oceans. In 2009, Panasonic became a majority stakeholder in the company making Sanyo a subsidiary of Panasonic. They produced one of the more sought after boomboxes in 1981, the MR-X20, also known as BigBen.
