Clairtone was an electronics company founded in Toronto, Ontario, Canada by Peter Munk and David Gilmour in 1958, as Clairtone Sound Corporation Limited. The company was dissolved in 1979, however boomboxes were being produced in the 1980’s under the Clairtone name and logo. The name was specifically used for the Canadian market. In Japan, they were made under the name Conion.
